A Roll of Pro Image
Since moving to Boston, I’ve really started to lean towards Kodak Pro Image 100 film. This roll didn’t have any particular focus, but I’ve been doing my best to stay busy with the camera and keep one with me all the time.
I have a few versions of this picture, it’s a boathouse near some sort of athletic facility along the Charles River. Originally I shot this in black and white on some experimental Sonic 25ISO film, and I was so disappointed with the results that I’ve been going back to reshoot it every once in a while. I’m pretty happy with this one.
These three are from the same trip to the facility on the river. I was blessed with some really great light early in the morning before work so I shot around a bit. Nothing serious, but I had a good time with it.
I saw a woman rowing down the Charles and wondered what she did for a living. She looked older, maybe she doesn’t work at all. I wondered where she started her trip from and where she would finish. I would have loved to ask her. I wonder what else she does for physical fitness, as rowing is a difficult sport.
Honorable mention photo from the dock where I saw the rower.
I had just walked passed a family of geese (two adults and a handful of goslings) when I saw a man approaching from the other direction with his dog. I had a bad feeling, as you can’t blame a dog for hunting, nor can you blame an older man for being pulled down the sidewalk by his large dog. I snapped a few photos while his dog momentarily terrorized my beloved geese.
I checked in with the geese afterwards and they all seemed to be doing alright. The kids are growing up quick, and I try to visit them every day.
We went to rotating sushi that evening and ate a LOT of sushi. 10/10 will go back. highly recommend Kura Sushi.
Fun film. I’ll use this stuff again for sure. It’s like a more realistic version of Ektar 100. The grain is almost just as good and the tones are more accurate than Portra or the former. More to come soon.
